Our training courses
Evaluation Skills
In addition to conducting independent evaluations for a range of clients, Brainbox also offers bespoke evaluation training sessions to teams who want to conduct evaluations of their own projects. Our training ranges from one full day to three full days and covers subjects such as engaging with stakeholders, skills for evaluating interventions, qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis techniques, and report writing skills.
Stakeholder Engagement
This half-day programme gives an overview of the benefits of stakeholder engagement. It looks at the mutually beneficial outcomes of building relationships, listening, and responding to different stakeholder groups.
Strategies for Stakeholder Engagement
During this session delegates will look at methods of developing engagement programmes. Delegates will learn to evaluate the different methods and select the most effective engagement strategy for their own projects.
Conducting Interviews and Focus Groups
This practical half-day session is an in-depth look at how to conduct interviews and focus groups with stakeholders in order to yield usable qualitative data.
Designing Questionnaires and an Introduction to Quantitative Data Analysis
Questionnaires are used to gather information as part of survey. They are useful to obtain information from large numbers of people. However, the data you obtain is only as good as the questions you ask: if people misunderstand the questions then the answers they give won’t produce valid results. This course aims to give delegates a greater awareness of the different aspects involved in writing good survey questions and questionnaires and to give them the skills to write their own questionnaires.
Techniques for Qualitative Data Analysis
During this hands-on session delegates will work through real examples of interview and focus group transcripts and learn how to use qualitative data to explore stakeholders’ experiences, understand their points of view and identify their needs and expectations.
Integrating Qualitative and Quantitative Data and Reporting Social Research
This is a practical session that looks at methods of integrating the different types of data you have collected in order to report your research findings. Delegates will consider what makes a readable and actionable research report, and look at how recommendations can be developed.
Personality and Performance
We work with you to look in depth at your personality profile and explore how your personality can influence your performance at work. You will learn to understand your own personality, preferences, strengths and weaknesses, and understand how your colleagues’ work styles differ from yours. We help you develop greater self-awareness, leading to an enhanced work environment.
Emotional Intelligence
This course will deepen your understanding of your own and other people’s emotions to help you increase your motivation and performance, and build trusting workplace relationships. We will help you resolve conflict and inspire co-operation, trust and confidence in others.
Building confidence
You will explore the meaning of self-confidence and examine how self-esteem affects confidence and influences behaviour. We look at methods of building self-esteem, projecting a positive and confident self-image and controlling your nerves. We help you recognise your own styles and behaviour, identify your personal strengths and better use different communication styles.
Time Management
This newly designed time management programme helps you organise your priorities and responsibilities and get more control over your workload. You will learn how to manage your time more effectively, whilst reducing stress and improving your wellbeing.
